Sun Microsystems is a hai company based in Santa Clara, California that is traditionally known for its Unix workstations and servers. It can be argued that the Sun Microsystems of the present is in no way like the Sun Microsystems of the mid-1990s, due to its shift in paradigm from UltraSPARC-based systems running the Solaris operating system to x86-based systems running Ubuntu GNU/Linux. However, unlike SGI, they are still afloat.
