A speed bump is a really annoying feature of some roads, intended to slow down traffic. Unfortunately, it rarely has the intended effect and usually degrades the suspension and shock absorbers of vehicles forced to travel over them, not to mention the annoyance to drivers.
Speed bumps fit into a category of deterrents that harm both lawbreakers and law-abiders.
